The Imaginary Dog

It's been a minute since I last posted, but here's a quick update:

1- Kaelyn is starting to talk. Starting. We have a few words mastered, like dog, fish, my personal favorite bubble, and of course "no." For some reason, that last one is used quite frequently and dragged out so it sounds more like nnnnooooooooooo.

2- Kaelyn is very opinionated and independent, and I am not sure if it is a compliment or an insult when people say "well, she is your daughter." She has to pick out her clothes and pajamas, she tells you when she is tired, or hungry, or wants to watch a show. And snack time takes about 5 minutes of me holding up various snack foods and our conversation going on for a few minutes like this: "Do you want this one?" "Nnnnnnnooooooooooooo." "Do you want this one?" "Nnnnnoooooooooo." "Do you want THIS one?" "Nnnnnoooooooooo." Until I get to yougurt or cookies. You would think I would have learned by now.

3- She has graduated from taking walks with the dogs in her stroller or car, to actually taking walks with us. The only problem is that she wants to hold the leash and walk the dogs, but even our little dogs can pull her down. So I devised a great plan to just give her a leash...with no dog attached to it. Surprisingly, she hasn't figured it out yet that she isn't dragging anything. The people we pass are always amused and I am quick to tell them that she is walking her "dog" *wink-wink* and they usually tell her how cute her dog is.

4- Sorry dad, usually we think your pretty amusing, but this picture is photographic evidence that sometimes your stories are too long and boring. All I heard was you reading to her, and the next thing I knew...this (see photo above)

I will leave you with this: Daddy found Kaelyn's tickle spot.
